Maleshoane Mphutlane is a poet with a strong focus on writing in indigenous languages. She is a self-taught writer and Sesotho praise poet. Her journey started in 2002, as a Sesotho traditional dancer. She discovered her talent for writing and performing poetry in 2006. She is also an aspiring theatre actress, and has one poetry album, which she released in 2017.

Maleshoane owns a recording studio that caters to indigenous language practitioners, and she has also formed a partnership with a local plant nursery, where she has built a stage and will host art competitions and annual festivals. This is a one-of-a-kind in her community.
